PLEASE NOTE THIS CLASS IS ONLY FREE WHEN YOU BUY THE MACHINE FROM US! IF YOU DIDN'T PURCHASE IT AT MULQUEEN'S YOU WILL BE CHARGED A CLASS FEE AT THE TIME OF CLASS FOR $75.00.
This is a class for New owners of a Brother Quattro (6000D) or Quattro 2 (6700D) or Quattro 3 (6750D) machine. Please do NOT sign up for this class if you own a different model machine. If you have already taken this class previously, please email the instructor PRIOR to enrolling as space is limited.
This class is an Introduction to your machine. We will talk about all the accessories that came with the machine, plus we will cover the sewing, decorative stitches, and embroidery features of the machine. Please note that this is not a learn to sew techniques class.
Please bring the following to class:
Your machine, power cord, accessory tray, foot control, all the feet and accessories that were included with the machine, and at least one empty bobbin. It is very important that you also bring your Machine Manual with you (if you have one). Bring some all-purpose sewing thread which may be purchased at Mulqueens if you do not have any for use during class. Also bring some tweezers, a fabric marker, a small pair of scissors for thread cutting and some inexpensive cutaway stabilizer and plain fabric (that is at least one-inch larger on each side than the hoop you plan on using - mentioned below). PLEASE PRE-HOOP your hoop with the stabilizer and fabric PRIOR to coming to class. Bring paper and a writing instrument if you wish to take notes!
In addition, please bring your embroidery arm, one of your medium hoops (such as the 130mmX180mm - 5”X7” hoop OR 200mmX200mm - 8”X8” hoop), and a spool of 40-wt embroidery thread in any color. Do not forget your Embroidery foot. You can either wind your own bobbins with 60-wt bobbin thread, or you can bring a size "L" or "A" pre-wound embroidery bobbin. Also bring a USB Flash Drive "Stick" with storage capacity no larger than 2GB or 4GB. If you are not familiar with USBs, stabilizers, threads or bobbins, we can discuss during class!
For a very brief demo of its features, bring your tablet (if one came with your machine - it is the My Custom Design tablet for use with your Brother machine, NOT a regular computer tablet). You will also need an ADDITIONAL EMPTY 2GB or 4GB USB flash drive to run the related program if you own a tablet. The pen to the tablet requires AAA batteries, so please check that the pen and tablet are in good working condition prior to coming to class :)
I know that the list is long, but please bring EVERYTHING mentioned that you have that is associated with your Brother machine. As it is an older model, we no longer carry it nor some of its supplies. I just don’t want us to not be able to move forward if we are missing a part when we meet :)
Bring lunch or snacks as class will last later into the afternoon. Please BRING a copy of your machine receipt as verification for this owners’ class.
PLEASE EMAIL me to let me know if you do own a TABLET!!
If you have any questions, please email the instructor: email@example.com
If you purchased your Brother machine from Mulqueen Sewing Centers, the cost is free to attend. If you purchased it elsewhere, there is a $75 charge to attend.
Due to limited classroom space, pre-registration is required.
Class and Club Policies
Class and/or Club fees are required at the time of registration. Reservations will only be accepted at time of full payment. If you need to cancel a class, we must be notified a minimum of five (5) days in advance of the class. At five days, we guarantee the attendance to the teacher so she can prepare for the class. There will be no class refunds or credits given after that time period. We reserve the right to cancel a class if we do not have the minimum number of students the teacher requires. If that happens, a full refund or credit will be given. Please read over the supply list for the class completely to see what preparations or special products are needed for the class. Purchase your supplies prior to the class unless the supply list indicates differently.
Please refrain from wearing scented sprays and lotions when attending classes and clubs.
