Requirements: | Thank you for signing up for the Fairhaven Tote class. Please follow these instructions carefully so we can finish the bag in one day. Purchase the pattern. The Mesa Mulqueen store has the written pattern in stock. If it is sold out, you may order a pdf version of the pattern from Simplyclassic.net. It is very important that you read the pattern all the way through to get a general understanding of the flow of the pattern. Also, highlight or note any areas where you may have questions. Carefully cut out the pattern pieces including those listed on the “cut list”. This is typically a strap, pocket, or a simple piece that does not require a paper piece. Occasionally there will be pieces too large to fit on a single page so you will need to fuse (tape) two pieces together to form the pattern piece. Follow the directions in the pattern for this process. Cut the exterior pieces, including the straps, out of vinyl. Cut the lining pieces out of a nice weight cotton. Interface “ALL” cotton pieces with a lightweight interfacing such as SF101. The “cut list” will either give you a measurement to cut or it will say “use pattern piece”. Also, use the “cut list” as a checklist to mark off all the pieces as you cut them to ensure you have all the necessary pieces to complete the project. Per pattern instructions, fuse all interfacings and stabilizers to the correct pieces. TIP: After fusing interfacing and stabilizers, lay the piece on a flat surface and allow to cool completely before moving. Make sure you have all the necessary hardware as called for by the pattern. Don’t forget zipper tape and a zipper pull. |
