Julie Bag Class

This pattern boasts a middle base with sides that wrap around toward the front and back of the bag. There is a slip pocket on the exterior middle base. A key fob strap (optional) sews into the side of the lining. A recessed zipper placket creates a secure closure across the top. You will learn to create hidden strap connectors that are secured with rivets for an added touch of bling. This pattern goes together smoothly. There are so many color combinations with the vinyl and fabrics we have. I suggest you purchase the Simply Classic vinyl that is available at Mulqueen; it is twice as long as other popular brands. You will find this to be very helpful when cutting and constructing straps. You can complete this bag in one day IF you come to class prepared! Purchase the pattern, read the instructions all the way through. Cut out the pattern pieces and fuse (tape) any that are too large to be printed on one page. Cut pieces from fabric remembering to cut the pieces that are on the “cut list” and use it as a checklist to ensure you have all the pieces to make your bag. I suggest using vinyl for the exterior of the bag body and the straps. Cut the lining pieces from a nice-weight cotton, cut interfacing (SF101) for ALL cotton pieces and fuse interfacing and stabilizers per pattern instructions. Make sure you have the necessary hardware as described in the pattern. Arrive on time and please refrain from wearing heavily scented perfumes, cologne, or lotions in class as a courtesy to those who have sensitivities or allergies to such. Plan on having a fun and educational day.
