Are you struggling with finishing your quilts and table runners?  Not happy with those corners or you just don't know where to start?  This class is a Basics on Finishing those edges.  We'll talk about many of the questions that arise along with hands-on making binding and two ways to complete the binding.  


PRE-CLASS PREPARATION

Prepare a small quilt sandwich for binding.  You can use two Fat Quarters (approx. 18" x 22") or placemat sized (9" x 20") pieces of fabric and a piece of batting.  Layer your backing fabric face down, batting and top fabric layer facing up.  Do a little quilting on these to hold them together or simply safety pin them together.  Muslin or left over cotton fabrics are fine.  This is what we will do our practice binding on and MUST be put together before class.

• 1/3 yard fabric for cutting your binding strips
• Thread - neutral or color that matches your binding fabric

• Sewing machine with power cord and foot control
• 1/4 inch piecing foot with or without guide
• Wound bobbins
• Rotary cutter with sharp blade
• Cutting mat
• Long ruler for cutting strips
• Basic Sewing Notions – Straight pins, wonder clips, fabric marking pens/pencils, machine screwdriver, tweezers, seam ripper, scissor, pen/pencil to take notes, etc., eye glasses if you need them

• An Edge Joining Foot or Stitch in the Ditch Foot -- OR bring all your presser feet and we'll see what you have.

Class & Club Policies 

Class and/or Club fees are required at the time of registration. Reservations will only be accepted at time of full payment. If you need to cancel a class, we must be notified a minimum of five (5) days in advance of the class. At five days, we guarantee the attendance to the teacher so she can prepare for the class. There will be no class refunds or credits given after that time period. We reserve the right to cancel a class if we do not have the minimum number of students the teacher requires. If that happens, a full refund or credit will be given. Please read over the supply list for the class completely to see what preparations or special products are needed for the class. Purchase your supplies prior to the class unless the supply list indicates differently.
