This class is suitable for all levels of machine embroidery from a first timer to our more seasoned machine embroiderers. Come hang out with or Embroidery Friends in Glendale!
This month we will be learning how to use our Brother ScanNCut machines with OESD embroidery patterns. A ScanNCut is not required to take this class. We have a demo machine set up for class participants to use. Also, come check out our new hooping station we have in our classroom.
We will stitch the OESD Ornate Mug Rugs pattern. We will make up to 3 of these super cute mug rugs during class.
For this class, we are not pre-cutting our fabrics to exact sizes before the class (YAY!). If you need help picking out products, the instructor is available at 10:00 a.m. to make some recommendations.

PRE-CLASS PREPARATION:
- Download the embroidery files and the SVG files on a USB drive.
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR THIS PROJECT:
- OESD Design for Ornate Mug Rugs - -- You can purchase an individual or the collection OESD Design on Demand in store with your class 25% discount. It will automatically be saved into your OESD design account where you can download it onto your machine and/or USB drive
- 4 - 5" x 5" squares of cotton fabric for mug rug backgrounds
- 6 - 5" x 5" squares of fusible batting
- 3 - 5" x 5" squares of SF101 or similar interfacing.
- 3 - 5" x 5" squares of felt (OESD Favorite Felt or similar)
- Washaway Stabilizer
- Embroidery threads that either match or contrast your fabrics
- you will need to match your upper and bobbin thread colors for the last step of these designs.
- Wash away embroidery tape
- Embroidery applique scissors (duckbill scissors)
MACHINE AND SEWING SUPPLIES TO BRING TO CLASS
- Embroidery machine with embroidery foot and power cord.
- Embroidery hoop 6" x 10" or larger
- Wound bobbins to match top thread
- Machine embroidery needles size 75/11 or 80/12
- Basic Notions: Straight Pins, Wonder Clips, Fabric Marking Pens/Pencils, Machine Screwdriver, Seam Ripper, Scissor, Pen/Pencil and Paper to take notes, etc.
- Optional: Cutting mat 8" x 10" or larger
- Rotary cutter with sharp blade
- Small rotary cutting ruler
- Reading glasses if you need them

Class & Club Policies
Class and/or Club fees are required at the time of registration. Reservations will only be accepted at time of full payment. If you need to cancel a class, we must be notified a minimum of five (5) days in advance of the class. At five days, we guarantee attendance to the teacher so she can prepare for the class. There will be no class refunds or credits given after that time. We reserve the right to cancel a class if we do not have the minimum number of students the teacher requires. If that happens, a full refund or credit will be given. Please read over the supply list for the class completely to see what preparations or special products are needed for the class. Purchase your supplies prior to the class unless the supply list indicates differently.
