Join the Glendale Store to make a super cute holiday mini quilt just in time for the 4th of July.
We will be embroidering OESD’s American Icons Mini Quilt.
You will learn how to create background stitching for “quilting in the hoop” on your embroidery machine. Handouts will be provided as well.
We will also be doing fold over binding for this embroidery project, and giving you tips on how to get nice and crisp 45-degree corners. It’s the easiest way to bind your embroidery projects.
This will be an excellent class to learn more about the embroidery features of your machine. All brands of embroidery machines are welcome to this class, but I am trained specifically with Brother/Babylock quilting in the hoop.
We will also be sewing in this class, so if you do not have a combo sewing and embroidery machine, please email me so I can ensure we have a sewing machine set up for you in class.
Print this list and bring it and proof of your class registration to any Mulqueen location and get 25% off any notions on this list and $1 off fabric per yard (1/4 yd min. cut). This does not include precut fabric).

PRE-CLASS PREPARATION:
- Put Embroidery files on a USB drive or your machine.
- Make the following cuts if you will be using a 5" x 7" hoop. If you will be using a larger hoop, please email me at clardy4@gmail.com so I can give you your cutting directions.
- Cut four 12" X 9" rectangles of background fabric
- Cut four 12" X 9" rectangles of Fusible Mesh stabilizer
- Cut four 6" X 10" rectangles of SF101 interfacing
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR THIS PROJECT:
- OESD Designs on Demand Collection - American Icons Designs by Debra Jordan Bryan #80028 OR you can purchase the following 4 individual designs – #80028-02 #80028-08 #80028-11 #80028-14 (purchase in store to get 25% off including any sale price by OESD)
- ½ yard of background fabric, ½ yard of backing, ½ yard of quilters batting or fusible batting
- Thread(s): Dark and light shades of blue, green and purple or pink for flowers; cream/white depending on fabric color; black, orange, red, brown, bronze, gold/yellow
- Other project supplies: Roxanne Glue Baste It - SKU:RXGL2
MACHINE SUPPLIES TO BRING TO CLASS:
Embroidery Machine with power cord, foot control and manual
Embroidery Foot (form embroidery machine)
- Standard foot
- Stitch in the ditch foot
- Embroidery Hoops - 5' x 7"
- Would bobbins (BLACK and WHITE)
- Microtex 80/12 or 90/14 needles
- Optional - Walking Foot, 1/4" foot
- Basic Sewing notions: Straight pins, wonder clips, fabric marking pen/pencil, machine screwdriver, seam ripper, scissors, pen/pencil and paper to take notes, reading glasses, if you need them
- Rotary cutter
- Optional - 8" x 10" (or larger) cutting mat

Discount Supply List – Class attendees will be given a list of supplies they can purchase at any Mulqueen location. It offers 25% off class notions and $1 off price per yard for fabrics needed for the class. Students are required to show the supply list and a copy of their class registration to receive the discounts.
Class & Club Policies
Class and/or Club fees are required at the time of registration. Reservations will only be accepted at time of full payment. If you need to cancel a class, we must be notified a minimum of five (5) days in advance of the class. At five days, we guarantee attendance to the teacher so she can prepare for the class. There will be no class refunds or credits given after that time. We reserve the right to cancel a class if we do not have the minimum number of students the teacher requires. If that happens, a full refund or credit will be given. Please read over the supply list for the class completely to see what preparations or special products are needed for the class. Purchase your supplies prior to the class unless the supply list indicates differently.
