How to Do Machine Foundation Paper Piecing

This session is meant to be for learning the method and the completion of a finished item. Although, the Ladybug that we will be making could easily be made into a pot holder, pin cushion, or even added to other blocks in the book to create a larger project.
Class attendees are offered a 25% discount off notions and $1 off per yard of fabrics (min. 1/4 cut) needed for this class project. Pre-cut fabrics are not included. Please show a copy of your class registration and supply list at the register to get your discount. This discount expires at the end of class.
PRE-CLASS PREPARATION:
- Purchase book
- Gather up some fabrics
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR PROJECT:
- Book - Wonderful World of Paper-Pieced QUILT BLOCKS by Liza Taylor (SKU: L0628W)
- Fabric - Gather fabrics in colors for a Ladybug.
- Fat Quarters or even smaller amounts will work.
- Suggested colors - red and black.
- A full Fat Quarter is recommended (or various scraps for background).
- IF time permits, we will start a 2-color tulip with green leaves.
- Thread - Neutral thread
- Other Project Supplies - Add-a-Quarter ruler (SKU: CM12)
- Glue stick
- Paper scissors and fabric scissors
MACHINE SUPPPLIES TO BRING TO CLASS:
- Sewing machine with power cord and foot control
- 1/4 inch foot
- Standard foot
- Wound bobbins
- Basic sewing notions: straight pins, wonder clips, fabric marking pens/pencils, machine screwdriver, seam ripper, scissors, pen/pencil and paper to take notes, etc.
- Rotary cutter with sharp blade
- Cutting mat
- Ruler and small mat or a rotating mat
Foundation Paper Piecing is done on a paper foundation. (will be discussed during class). Carol Doak foundation Paper (SKU: 10985). If you have paper like this a home, bring it along OR instructor will print the patter needed for you on her paper.
Please bring lunch, snacks, and water for your comfort.

Class & Club Policies
Class and/or Club fees are required at the time of registration. Reservations will only be accepted at time of full payment. If you need to cancel a class, we must be notified a minimum of five (5) days in advance of the class. At five days, we guarantee attendance to the teacher so she can prepare for the class. There will be no class refunds or credits given after that time. We reserve the right to cancel a class if we do not have the minimum number of students the teacher requires. If that happens, a full refund or credit will be given. Please read over the supply list for the class completely to see what preparations or special products are needed for the class. Purchase your supplies prior to the class unless the supply list indicates differently. Please refrain from using perfumes or scented lotions for the health and safety of our staff and customers.
