Beginner-friendly Christmas in July Christmas tree with easy piecing and unlimited color options. You can make this fun tree in two different shapes with oh sew many options for decorating the tree! You can make it an Advent Calendar, add lace ornaments, buttons, and sew much more! The instructors sample used scrappy greens for the tree and a white and gold dot for the background. The pattern offers two different tree shapes. Pick your favorite, gather your fabrics and come have some fun with us.

HINT: for cutting the 1 1/2" strips, lay out your fabric for cutting. Instead of placing your ruler the 1-1/2" line for your first cut, move it to the 3-inch line and cut. Then move your ruler back to cut the 3-inch strip into two 1-1/2 inch strips. Email the instructor if you need any more help.

PRE-CLASS PREPARATION:



Purchase OH! STRIPMAS TREE pattern
Choose tree version you want to make
Precut your fabrics to 1 1/2" strips WOF (Do NOT cut to lengths needed)

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR PROJECT:

Pattern - OH, STRIPMAS TREE by Michelle Watts (SKU: JMWOST)
Fabric - 1-5/8 yard background fabric
2/3 yard - 3/4 yard (depending on version) for Tree
1/8 yard -1/8 yard brown for the trunk
1/3 yard for the binding
Thread - Neutral thread (I prefer Aurifil)

MACHINE SUPPLIES TO BRING TO CLASS:

Sewing machine with power cord and foot control
1/4 inch foot to fit your machine
Wound bobbins
Basic sewing notions: straight pins, wonder clips, fabric marking pens/pencils, machine screwdriver, seam ripper, scissors, pen/pencil and paper to take notes, etc.
Rotary Cutter with sharp blade
Cutting Mat - Small for cutting strips to length
Ruler - Small or narrow
Special Instructions: Please bring a tape measure

Please bring lunch, snacks, and water for your comfort.

Class & Club Policies

Class and/or Club fees are required at the time of registration. Reservations will only be accepted at time of full payment. If you need to cancel a class, we must be notified a minimum of five (5) days in advance of the class. At five days, we guarantee attendance to the teacher so she can prepare for the class. There will be no class refunds or credits given after that time. We reserve the right to cancel a class if we do not have the minimum number of students the teacher requires. If that happens, a full refund or credit will be given. Please read over the supply list for the class completely to see what preparations or special products are needed for the class. Purchase your supplies prior to the class unless the supply list indicates differently. Please refrain from using perfumes or scented lotions for the health and safety of our staff and customers.
