Kym lives on the Gold Coast, Queensland Australia and is an international speaker,
teacher, author, co-inventor of sewing related products and together with Ann Duncan,
they own The Sewing Revolution Pty Ltd.
She has been described as an “EDUTAINER” who will educate you and entertain you.
Kym has a very interesting past which has taught her many life lessons. From a medical
background to a Detective to an author and inventor which she shares through out her
events. Sewing became much more than a hobby for her after she suffered PTSD.
She won The Beam Magazine, Women to Watch 2022 award in Australia.
Kym has presented and taught extensively in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and the
United States of America.
She has been invited to present and teach for most of the major Sewing Machines
manufacturers and now spends some of the year in the USA speaking and teaching 2 day
events for the Janome America.
A highlight of her speaking career, was when she was invited to be the key note speaker
at Quilters Night out at Sew Expo in Puyallup.
Kym and Ann combine patchwork, quilting, appliqué and machine embroidery together
with amazing results. The work done by them speaks for itself and is of an exceptional
and original quality. Their main rule are there are no rules.
They have appeared in many magazines both as contributors and had profiles done on
them and their work
They are constantly devising new methods and rulers for all aspects of sewing and will
continue to do so.
They have now invented several different rulers to save time and effort with patchwork
and quilting as well as machine embroidery and appliqué placement .
Kym and Ann have been ruler designers for Creative Grid USA and proud to be part of
that family.
Their first book, an Instruction Book on the use of The Sewing Revolution is about to go
into a seventh reprint. Infinity Quilt has been very successful being sold worldwide and
has been reprinted.
Kym is passionate and enthusiastic about the craft and love to share the secrets to sewing
learnt along the way.
