Ypsilon is Greek for “Y”. Y is the shape in this quilt and it is created with Y-seams. If you 've heard y-seams are horrible, don’t believe it! These are the easiest ever! The 3-D effect of this quilt is dynamic and easier than expected to create. The magic happens by using 3 colors and then selecting a
light, medium, and dark shade for each color family. The play of angles and shades gives this quilt depth and dimension. Cutting is made easy with the AccuQuilt GO! Half-Hexagon Die. This class is for confident beginner or intermediate piecer.

The classroom will be set up with AccuQuilt GO! cutters, but you will need your own die. The large Half-Hexagon AccuQuilt GO! Die # 55437 is used for cutting out the quilt.

PRE-CLASS PREPARATION:

• Purchase the pattern (Please call the Glendale store at 623-934-0084 to reserve your pattern after you have registered for this class)
• If you will be using the AccuQuilt GO! Half-Hexagon Die, cut 5" strips of your 9 fabrics
• If you will be using a 60-degree angle ruler - cut the required amount of according to the pattern instructions
• Pre-wind your bobbins
• Put a new needle in your machine

• Pattern:  Ypsilon Illusion Quilt by Deonn Stott (Please call the Glendale store at 623-934-0084 to reserve your pattern after you have registered for the class). 
• A light, medium and dark fabric in 3 different colors (9 fabrics in total.)  See pattern for details, but, basically, you'll need approx. 3/4 yard of each color for the Large Quilt.  Extra fabric will be needed for binding and a few of the colors depending on how how your quilt will be finished.
• Neutral color thread
• 2 or 2.5" x 4" or 6" ruler for marking 1/4" lines
• Fabric marking pencil or pen (must be able to mark a fine line on your fabric - the SEWLINE pencil works well or the purple disappearing one.
• AccuQuilt GO! Half-Hexagon Die #55437 
• Rotary cutter with a sharp blade
• Small ruler that is 2" or 2 1/2" x 4" or 6" with 1/4" markings
• Basic sewing notions such as straight pins, Wonder Clips, Fabric Marking Pens/Pencils, Machine Screwdriver, Seam Ripper, Scissor, Pen/Pencil and Paper to take notes, etc.
• Eye glasses if you need them

• Sewing machine with power cord and foot control
• 1/4" piecing foot
• Wound bobbins
• New machine needle

Class & Club Policies

Class and/or Club fees are required at the time of registration. Reservations will only be accepted at time of full payment. If you need to cancel a class, we must be notified a minimum of five (5) days in advance of the class. At five days, we guarantee attendance to the teacher so she can prepare for the class. There will be no class refunds or credits given after that time. We reserve the right to cancel a class if we do not have the minimum number of students the teacher requires. If that happens, a full refund or credit will be given. Please read over the supply list for the class completely to see what preparations or special products are needed for the class. Purchase your supplies prior to the class unless the supply list indicates differently. Please refrain from using perfumes or scented lotions for the health and safety of our staff and customers.
