Got lots of Fat Quarters (FQ) that you've collected? Do you need some placemats for yourself or to give as gifts? Are you just looking for a fun project to create? Any of these might be reasons to join this sewing class. Start with 4 FQs and make 4 placemats OR start with 2 FQs and make 2 placemats. This project is easy enough for a beginner with some experience.
These placemats are cut from fat quarters in a specific way. Pieces are then stacked in order then shuffled! It's a fun way to mix, match and create variation.
PRE-CLASS PREPARATION:
- Purchase the pattern and gather your fabrics - two to four fat quarters
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR PROJECT:
Class attendees are offered a 25% discount off notions and $1 off per yard of fabrics (min. 1/4 cut) required and used for this class project. Pre-cut fabrics are not included. Please show a copy of your class registration AND supply list at the register to get your discount. This discount expires at the end of class.
- Pattern - Fat Quarter Shuffle Mats by Poorhouse Quilt Designs - SKU PQD-269
- 2 to 4 coordinating fat quarters
- Neutral thread
- Fabric Clips
- Pins
- Rotary cutter with sharp blade
- Medium sized cutting mat
- Ruler - at least 6 1/2" x 18" ruler or a combination of a long ruler and smaller square ruler.
- Other basic sewing notions - fabric marking pens/pencils, machine screwdriver, seam ripper, scissor, pen/pencil and paper to take notes, etc.
- Eyeglasses if you need them
- OPTIONAL - If you have a 10" x 10" or 12" x 12" design board it would be extremely helpful. I use a combination cutting/pressing board - SKU - JT720
MACHINE SUPPLIES TO BRING TO CLASS:
- Sewing Machine with power cord and foot control
- 1/4" piecing foot
- Wound bobbins
- Extra sewing machine needles

Class & Club Policies
Class and/or Club fees are required at the time of registration. Reservations will only be accepted at time of full payment. If you need to cancel a class, we must be notified a minimum of five (5) days in advance of the class. At five days, we guarantee attendance to the teacher so she can prepare for the class. There will be no class refunds or credits given after that time. We reserve the right to cancel a class if we do not have the minimum number of students the teacher requires. If that happens, a full refund or credit will be given. Please read over the supply list for the class completely to see what preparations or special products are needed for the class.
