This class is scheduled for the following dates in 2026:
- Saturday, February 14, 2026
- Saturday, July 11, 2026
- Saturday, October 3, 2026
Join us in Glendale to learn Edge to Edge quilting on an embroidery machine.
Bring in a quilt “sandwich”, that is at least double the size of your largest embroidery hoop or a table runner from one of Ellen’s classes. We will learn the process, do’s and don’ts of edge to edge quilting using your embroidery machine.
Pattern Options: You can purchase any Amelie Scott Expansion pack or if your embroidery machine has built-in edge to edge quilting designs, that will work just fine. The embroidery instructor is able to work with any brand of embroidery machine.
We typically use magnetic hoops for edge to edge embroidery. Plastic hoops can be used, but they are less than ideal and you will enjoy the process much more with a magnetic hoop.
If you do not own an embroidery machine, but would love to see how this can help your quilting, we have a limited number of machines that you can use during class. Please email the instructor, Christine Lardy clardy4@gmail.com to reserve a machine for this class.
If you have a Brother Aveneer or Brother Luminaire 3, we will not be using the built-in edge to edge quilting “Program”. That will be a separate class if anyone is interested in learning that feature of their machine. Please inquire with the instructor or staff at the Glendale store.
PRE-CLASS PREPARATION:
- Save the Embroidery files on a USB drive or your machine if you have Edge to Edge patterns.
- Email Christine Lardy at clardy4@gmail.com if you need to borrow an embroidery machine.
- Make a quilt sandwich (2 layers of cotton with batting in the middle) large enough to fit the hoop you will be using, or bring in a quilt/table runner/ topper that is ready for quilting.
