Serger Holiday Placemat

Get ready to make a fun placemat at the Mesa Clubhouse! Any brand of serger is welcome.
Supply list:
Serger, foot control, power cord.
Left needle threaded with regular serger thread.
The following supply list is for 1 (one) placemat
Placemat is approximately 18” X 12”
½ Yard of single sided fusible woven interfacing
½ Yard of matching fabric for the back of your placemat
We will be using the “self-binding” technique for this placemat. You will need the Quick Easy Mitered Binding Tool (available at Mulqueens)
5 different coordinating fabrics cut in 2 ½” X 18” strips (6 strips of each, you will have strips left over)
Decorative thread for your lower looper.
Use serger coordinating thread for your needle. (Fresh needle, 80/12 universal or serger needle EL x 705 80/12.)
Long quilters Pins
Padded board (example: June Taylor Quilter’s Cut ‘n Press II board (it’s 18”x12”) or if you have a large wool pressing mat at least 18” x 12” that will work great.
