Embroidery Club July 2026 - Amelie Scott Edge-to-Edge Quilting

All brands of machines are welcome!
This month we will begin our EDGE-to-EDGE Machine Quilting Adventure
By popular request we are going to begin to learn the Amelie Scott ITH Edge-to-Edge!
quilting technique. After several hours of “playing” with Christine’s great Edge-to-Edge designs, I think we are ready for a fun class. As you all know, I like to start small and ease up to the bigger designs as my confidence level increases. This first experience with Edge-to-Edge will be fun and fast. It’s small enough to complete in the class, but large enough to get a good feel for E2E ITH embroidery.

Supply List:
Embroidery machine
Power cord
Embroidery foot attached
Seasonal Swirl Place Mats Embroidery Design by Amelie Scott Designs (available at Mulqueen Sewing Center) NOTE: This is not in book form; this is an independent pattern. (Please be open to purchasing this design. Christine has done a great job digitizing her design which will help make your first experience with E2E a breeze)

IMPORTANT! If you are going to continue to use the E2E ITH embroidery you will want to invest in a magnetic hoop. Using a magnetic hoop will shave off hours of placement issues and help make your embroidery experience so much better.
Mulqueen Sewing Centers carries D.I.M.E hoops created for several different machine brands. I used my 240 X 150 Large Viking magnetic hoop and loved my experience.
Purchase the largest magnetic hoop for your machine. We also carry Brother, Viking and Pfaff magnetic hoops.
Your chosen hoop should be big enough to use at least the Small design (4.58”x7.66”)
505 Temporary Adhesive Spray

If you cannot use sprays, I suggest you try:
Bo-Nash Bonding Agent or Quilters Select Free Fuse
Embroidery thread for the top (contrast your top fabric)
A full Embroidery bobbin thread

Cut fabric as follows:
Top fabric: 19 ½” X 22” (this should be a plain color with no design)
Batting: 27” X 30”
Backing fabric: 27” X 30” (this can be a matching fabric or a design)
*Fuse or spray these 3 fabrics together before the class

Floriani Template Tear away 8.5” x 11” printable sheets OR OESD StabilStick Template Sheets (8.5” X 11” printable sheets)
NO stabilizer needed

Before Class:
Please have your fabrics cut and fused together
Have your embroidery foot attached
Find you’re quilting file from the design pack and use the template paper to print the design A B from the chosen files. I used small design files Sunfl-SA & Sunfl-SB
Down load your chosen files (there will be 2, A & B) on a jump drive or download them to your machine and save them.
