Cutters and a couple of dies will be available to share in the classroom. Pattern will be given out in class. Placemat size is approximately 18” x 21”
The goal in class will be to make ONE placemat; you may cut out more but make sure your precutting is done. We will be piecing the block and placemat top. We will not be finishing this with backing and binding in class. IF you are attending the class and are not experienced with Accuquilt, please email and let the instructor know.
Pre-Class Preparation:
Gather your fabrics and precut your strips for class.
Discount Supply List – Class attendees will be given a list of supplies they can purchase at any Mulqueen location. It offers 25% off class notions and $1 off price per yard for fabrics needed for the class. Students are required to show the supply list and a copy of their class registration
to receive the discounts.
Supplies needed for Project:
- Pattern / Book w/ SKU: Pattern is from Accuquilt. Teacher will have it available in class, or you may download your own
from Accuquilt. - Fabric and Batting:
- BLOCK:
1 - 3 ½” strip WOF for TRIANGLES (light pink)
1 - 3” strip x WOF for DIAMOND shapes
2 – 5 ½” x 12 ½” rectangles for KITES in 2 colors (or 1 strip if using 1
color) - FINISHING:
Large triangles around block (tan): 2 – 8” squares
Borders/framing: 2 – 1 ½” strips per placemat
Side Rectangle: 4” x 12”
+Binding and Backing not included in this list. - Neutral thread
- Accuquilt cutting mat – 6” x 12”

Machine Supplies to be bring to class:
- Sewing Machine with Power Cord and Foot Control
- 1/4 Inch Foot
- Wound Bobbins
Basic Sewing / Embroidery Notions to bring to class:
- Straight Pins, Wonder Clips, Fabric Marking Pens/Pencils, Machine Screwdriver, Seam Ripper, Scissor, Pen/Pencil and Paper to take notes, etc.
Rotary Cutting Tools to bring to class:
- Rotary Cutter with sharp blade
- Cutting Mat Size: Small mat
- Ruler
Bring snack or lunch if desired.
Class & Club Policies:
Class and/or Club fees are required at the time of registration. Reservations will only be accepted at time of full payment. If you need to cancel a class, we must be notified a minimum of five (5) days in advance of the class. At five days, we guarantee attendance to the teacher so she can
prepare for the class. There will be no class refunds or credits given after that time. We reserve the right to cancel a class if we do not have the minimum number of students the teacher requires. If that happens, a full refund or credit will be given. Please read over the supply list for
the class completely to see what preparations or special products are needed for the class. Purchase your supplies prior to the class unless the supply list indicates differently.
