3-in-1 Sewing Organizer

If you can relate to any of these questions, then this project is a must-have for you and your sewing room. This 3-in-1 Sewing Organizer helps solve all these problems in one
simple and functional way. The organizer has a thread catcher, a pin cushion and pocket for your small sewing scissors, seam ripper, point turner, fabric pen, etc. The best part is you can take all these must-have sewing notions from your sewing table to the ironing board and
classes, easily keeping everything organized in one place. Our Sewing organizer will have a “heart” appliqué available if you care to use one. You do not have to appliqué anything on this organizer if you do not care to. Appliqué is not mandatory.

Your supply list is as follows:

A total of ½ yard of fabric. (See specific cut measurements below). You can use as many different fabric prints as you like, or they can all be the same. Use scrap fabrics you have on hand, or pick up some pre-cut fabrics.
1/2 yard fusible interfacing
Pellon Deco Fuse cut to 1” X 18” long
Emery Sand for pin cushion (rice and crushed shells are not heavy enough)
All-purpose Sewing Thread (this can match or contrast your fabric)
90/14 Universal Sewing Machine needle
¼” Piecing Foot (optional)
Open Toe Foot or Clear Decorative Foot (optional for applique)
Paper Backed, Sewable Double Sided Iron-On Adhesive (optional for applique)
Straight pins or clips
Marking Pen
Square ruler
Fabric scissors and/or rotary cutter and mat
Iron

Cut:
Type of fabric - cotton is recommended for easy sewing.
Strap: 3.5” x 10”
Pillow: 4.5” x 10”
Inside Lining: 17.5” x 11”
Outside Lining: 17.5” x 8.5”
Pocket: 10” x 4”
You will need to cut the fusible
interfacing slightly smaller for 1/4 inch seam allowance for the following pieces: Outside Lining, Strap, Pillow, and Pocket. The Strap stabilizer only needs to be half the length of the Strap piece of fabric. (See photo)
Cut all your fabric and stabilizer pieces.
2. Apply stabilizer to the wrong side (back side) of your fabric using your iron and following
the directions on your fusible interfacing package.
3. Thread your machine with all-purpose sewing thread in top and bobbin.
4. Set your machine for a center needle straight stitch at a 2.5mm stitch length.
